"'So, Which Band is Your Boyfriend in?' is an exploration of the real-life experiences of non-male participants in the UK's DIY and underground music scenes. It features the views of individuals in various roles (musicians, sound engineers, venue owners, photographers, writers), discovering how and why they got involved in music. The film takes a look at the positive and the not-so-positive experiences in the current music scene, and investigates what can be done to make music more accessible to everyone, regardless of gender.

Una Banda de Chicas (A Girl´s Band)

Hey there. We just got to know about this documentary about female music bands (of different genres) in Argentina. The movie is from 2018, so it was done in the midst of the (still ongoing) revolutionary feminist fights in Argentina... Check it out!

We don't know the filmakers yet, but they have a facebook-site (for those of you that understand spanish).

Recently we discovered a very inspiring collection of poems in the bookshop. As the editor (suhrkamp) states: For millions of women in the US self esteem began with a poem of Maya Angelou.
